The Impact of a Canadian Financial Cybercrime Prevention Campaign on Clients’ Sense of Security

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact a cybercrime prevention campaign that run by Canadian financial institution. More specifically, we examined how participants/clients perceived institution’s initiative inform them about cybercrimes. also explored whether or not had desired effect, which reinforce clients’ sense security. This took place on October 2018 and 1452 adults (831 males 621 females) participated in online web survey. results indicated been positively most respondents (93.2%). However, only low percentage individuals (18%) seen poster/campaign prior completion survey while majority (82%) accessed campaign’s components during Further analysis has shown no gender differences participants’ responses. In general, participants felt increased their security, especially among older (55 years old over). Most have expressed an interest receiving more information take actions protecting one’s self. Results suggest it would be advisable conduct targeted campaigns order reach out as many people possible. Discussion includes practical recommendations based review literature.
